TREATMENT SPOTLIGHT: DERMAFUSION

We all love talking about the results from a spectacular facial, but what about the facial itself? Lee, our social media manager, puts herself at the hands of the Me Skin and Body experts to talk about what its actually like the get one of our specialised treatments. This month - Dermafusion.

I don’t know about you, but this crazy Spring weather has thrown my skin completely. Do I need to up the moisture for this dry wind? Should I double up my sun protection for these hot sunny days? The result is skin that is a little unbalanced and very congested. The balancing act has not been successful. Thankfully, I’ve had Dermafusion to the rescue.

Just like our Luxe C3 cocktail, Dermafusion is a Me Skin and Body exclusive medi-facial, but without the downtime. Three crucial steps - Micro, Peel and Sonophoresis - means you skin is experiencing an intense rejuvenation while getting a deep dose of nutrients to the areas it needs the most. The outcome of course, is brilliant - Glowing, balanced skin that is pepped and plumped up.

Kate, as always, begins my treatment with a gentle but effective cleanse to ensure we are starting with a clean base. Though I often come to my facials sans makeup, I do love experiencing the added step of an oil cleanse when I’ve come from work, for that extra level of clean.

With all Me Skin and Body skin treatments, each step is customised for you. My tough skin is unreactive, so Kate happily works on my congested chin and jawline, and chooses a gentler head for the delicate eye area. For some, micro may only be a few gentle sweeps of the head in certain areas - The goal is to stimulate and renew so you’ll never experience irritation, just the benefits of manual exfoliation to prep.

A Lactobotanical peel is applied next, suited to the needs of your skin. This peel promotes skin shedding, as well as stimulating hydration in your skin, so in comparison to other peels is quite gentle. After the micro, I could feel the “bite” of the peel more so than usual, but the mild discomfort soon settled.

Now for the final and crucial step - Sonophoresis. This tool uses ultrasound technology to deeply infuse the skin with much need nutrients. For me and my acne scarring, this meant Vitamin C to brighten and encourage an even skin tone. Finally, my renewed skin is protected with SPF, and I’m released back into the world feeling very soft skinned and relaxed.

The big takeaway to this treatment, however? The immediate feeling afterwards. While other treatments make their work felt 12 - 24 hours later, the feeling after Dermafusion is an immediate lift. Cheekbones and jawline feel tight but comfortable.

Looking for serious results without the downtime? Dermafusion is for you.
