Facial FAQs Pt.2

At Me Skin and Body, we always aim to have our clients informed, comfortable and looking forward to their next facial. Read on for some of our most Frequently Asked Questions. Todays questions focus on expectations, post care, and how you can get your best results from your beauty room experience.

My skin isn't glowing as soon as I leave my treatment - in fact it looks flushed and imperfect! Why is this?

After a facial the skin’s microcirculation has been stimulated and so it can look a little red and blotchy. Also the skin will likely go through a detoxification as dead cells shed which can result in a minor breakout that will like clear within a few days. It is always best to have a facial about 5 days before any special events.

I'm looking forward to my facial, but I'm not sure I need a whole new skincare regime. Why do I need to consider it?

We will look at your current home care program and assess whether or not it suits your current skin condition and is targeting your concerns.

If there are any holes or areas lacking we will make appropriate recommendations.

70% of your results come from good home care and 30% from treatments.

Why does MSB carry multiple skincare brands?

We don’t believe there is a ‘one size fits all’ skincare range and we want to be able to offer each and every one of our clients a tailored solution without limitations. We aim to keep on top of the newest science and ingredient research to keep on top of an ever evolving industry. Variety is key!

Why do I need more than one facial?

One facial will help to restore essential moisture, remove dead cell build up and brighten the complexion and if performed monthly will maintain the health and condition of the skin as it stands.

If we need to ‘correct’ or change the skin then multiple treatments are generally required at different intervals to stimulate specific responses from the skin.

Once the level of desired change has been achieved a maintenance program can commence.

Will I break out after my facial?

Possibly, especially if you have underlying congestion as this will be broken down and eliminated by the skin in order for it to clear.

What do I need to do post-facial to ensure the best results?

It is very important that you follow your therapist’s homecare and aftercare advise which will differ depending on the treatment that you have had.
